This is beecaunse Mercedes-Benz represents success, prestige and status as well as quality, perfection, performance, desire and passion. Such image, shared by people around the world, is not only a product of our historied past, but also a heavy responsability and a commitment to continue with the values that have put Mercedes Benz at the forefront of the industry. Many of the technologies that make the automotive experience possible are attributed to Mercedes Benz. The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) is a product of Mercedes Benz engineering. ESP (electronic stability programme) drastically reduces the risk of skidding by giving individual braking impulses to each wheel and dynamically regulating the torque of the engine. It was first introduced in 1995, and recent studies prove that ESP can prevent up to 2/3 of all accidents caused by skidding. In 1959, at a time when most of its competitors were focusing on speed, Mercedes-Benz introduced the passenger safety cell. Like all brilliant innovations, it is very simple. It saved the lives of many people. If a Mercedes-Benz vehicle is involved in a crash, ‘crumple zones’ absorb much of the impact. The passenger, however, is protected by the ‘passive’ safety cell. Other innovations, such as our tensioned seat belts and air bags, also rely entirely on the safety cell. Many more are the innovations being brought forward by Mercedes, from telematics and advanced communication and information systems to new alternative propulsion systems, such as BlueTec, Hybrid and other technology. Mercedes is poised to lead the evolutionary and revolutionary pace of the automotive for years to come. |

Any and every Mercedes Benz vehicle forms part of a lineage of superior cars, produced with the highest levels of sophistication and quality, and with the most advanced engineering.
